In 2018 the Florida Panhandle was devastated by Hurricane Michael, the fourth strongest hurricane to make landfall in the U.S. In 2019, Florida Housing requested applications for HOME Investment Partnership Program funding from developers who were committed to rebuilding housing in the counties most impacted by the hurricane. Timshel Development Group and East Lake Community Development were awarded HOME funding and were extremely excited to develop Tranquility at Hope School, a beautiful apartment community in Marianna, FL just south of I-10. The community has two residential buildings with a total of 30 three bedroom, two bath units and also has many desirable features for families, including: a splash pad, picnic pavilion, playground and a community building with a business center, fitness center, and various resident services. The entire community isICC 700 National Green Building Standard Certified and has energy-star appliances, windows, ceiling fans and light fixtures.
